Bayelsa Tricycle Association Joins Bayelsa Health Insurance Scheme with MoU Signing

The leadership of the Tricycle Owner’s Association of Bayelsa State has been commended for their willingness to integrate its members into the Bayelsa Health Insurance Scheme.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Prof. Onyaye Kunle-Olowu, Chairperson, Bayelsa Health Insurance Scheme Board made the commendation in her office while signing an MoU between the Bayelsa Health Insurance Scheme and Tricycle Owners Association of Bayelsa State to integrate Tricycle Riders in to the Bayelsa Health Insurance Scheme.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

She recalled how staff of Bayelsa Health Insurance Scheme (BHIS) were at the Ekeki Motor Park few years back to sensitize motorist and tricycle riders on the benefits of enrolling under the scheme, emphasizing that signing of the MoU is a dream come true.

Prof. Onyaye urged residents of the state to take full advantage of the scheme in order not to be victim of unforeseen health conditions. “Things can happen when you never bargained for, but when the unexpected occurs, with the BHIS, you can access healthcare without selling any property for medical bills”, she stated. 

Earlier, the Executive Secretary, Bayelsa Health Insurance Scheme, Dr. Zuoboemi Agadah said the signing of the MoU authorizes the executive of the union to collect premium from their members on behalf of BHIS and pay same daily to BHIS designated account.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

He explained that as an enrollee they can also register other family members and pay for their premium.

Dr. Agadah highlighted some benefits of the scheme to an enrollee which includes access to affordable, effective and efficient healthcare services.

In his speech, Comr. Ebikobowei Sani, Chairman Tricycle Association of Bayelsa State thanked the management of the Bayelsa Health Insurance Scheme for including tricycle riders and their families as residents to benefit from the health insurance scheme.

He promised to liaise with other similar unions in the state to persuade them on the need to register under the scheme.

The high point of the occasion was the signing of the MoU documents by both parties.
